Wireless Broadband cures Dial-Up Blues!

Well...the testing is complete and the results are in: Wireless Broadband definitely is faster and allows very good game play when compared to dial-up.
I have been a dial-up user for the past few years because no cable or DSL is available in my area and have developed my game around low graphics, moonwalking mechs, and spontaneous deaths from invisible enemies. NO MORE!!
I recently have acquired a Ovation U727 by Novatel Wireless USB card using the Sprint Network.
heres the results for my area:
While the ping rate could be ALOT better...the band width is great. I get much better game than I did using dial-up. Most of the time I see averages in my pings around 200-250 ms, which is slighly better than dial up in my area.
It also seems to remain stable, even while it is raining. I love the total freedom drop this in your pocket and hit the road..when you need to use it, just pop it in your laptop, and your set!
While this certainly does not blow away DSL or anything else, it is an affordable solution where DSL or Cable is not available. The card with a new 2 year plan is under $100 and a $59.99/ month for unlimited access....not too bad really.
...............our next adventure with this card:
EVDO wireless home network....more on that once we get it workin!

Very awesome! So this will mean all your puters in your house will be able to play mw? Hmmm maybe you've got more people in yer house that would like an adventure in mechin.
If you need any help with the router give me a shout. I should be able to help a bit. I've learned a lot the past few months.. lol
So if ya find yerself stuck out in the sticks like yours truly....and dial-up or $atellite are the options...have a look at this new technology....it is way cheaper than satellite and supports gaming (satellite does not game y'all..)
the router itself was rather pricey at +$200...but is does flash upgrades and accepts most types of connections and cell phones.
I have to say i currently love it!....oh and kudos to the folks at evdoinfo.com....great site and support....made the installation a breeze!
good customer support is a real treasure when ya find it these days!
heck......I even have mah Wii hooked up through it!
