Ole Mechwarrior needs help..plz

I am coming out of retirment.
I have got IP addresses, for online servers, from online (assuming their current).
I have tried everything to connect to online games but cannot. (multiplayer)
Could someone tell me or help me to reconnect to the world of mechwarriors. It can't be to hard, just can't remember where to put what numbers.
I even have the old Microsoft Game Voice full edition headset and all, be glad to host voice. I use to be a member of MoTF and then the 328th.

I'm on XP, can't connect, tried everything ya said...
I'm entering my IP's correctly..
Scratching head....What program can I install and you maybe can fix it..??!

As far as I know, there is no program that would be helpful in this situation.
What you describe, sounds like network/router/firewall related issues. So you really need everything configured correctly.
What you could do now:
- Make sure that no software firewall (Windows firewall or third party firewall) is blocking.
- As a test, bypass your router and connect directly via modem (if 2 separate devices). If it's a 2 in 1 device, set your PC to DMZ at router menu (DMZ = "Demilitarized zone"). Router NAT firewall is completely disabled for this PC by setting it to DMZ => if you can connect to mech servers now, it's a router/port problem most probably.
- Check if actual pc lan ip is the same as defined at router port forwarding rule (otherwise port forwarding won't work => you really need a static lan ip!).
To get your pc lan ip type "ipconfig" after opening a "dos" command box (start => execute => cmd)
- Network on your pc could be corrupted, try a network repair install.

Welcome back! Do you have the right patches? Can you see the servers or nothing shows up at all?
